Welcome to a new bi-weekly segment here at PokerNZ.com which covers a rundown of tournament results for New Zealanders across various sites.
The rankings over at PocketFives will be the foundation for covering the results. If you know of a Kiwi who is putting up some good results, leave a message below so he can be included in the future.
Currently New Zealand is ranked 30th, I feel with poker slowly expanding in New Zealand that we as a country can eventually reach the top 20!
New Zealand have put some huge scores in the past, most recently BluffingX taking 3rd in a massive Sunday Million for $ 552,973.00 on March 12th however we are yet to see anyone look to break into the top 10 in the world wide rankings.
No one has had massive score in the last couple of weeks or a deep run in any of the Sunday Majors, however kiwis have been locking in some wins recently in some good sized fields in the smaller buy in tourneys!
Snowman888 (Herndogg on Stars) came out on top in 2 tournaments, defeating 2833 villains in the The Hot 5.50$ (Turbo 5k guarantee) collecting a nice $2,240.54 for his efforts! Snowman888 also took down Stars’ 3.30$ (1R1A, 3.5k Guarantee) for $947.63.
Also taking down 2 tournaments was KillerNorbit collecting $732.60 in the $5.50+R NL Hold’em [$25 Add-On, $3K Gtd] that attracted 131 players. The 2nd victory was in the 1046 player field in the $11 NL Hold’em [$10K Gtd] which was good for $1935.37 on April 9th.
In addition to the victories above, there were many final tables, however we all know, no one remembers 2nd. Nevertheless final tables are no easy feat.
