 David Allan – Day 1A Chip Leader
The NZPT Queenstown Snowfest is underway. Day 1A has just completed with 51players starting the day, there will be 27returning to do battle on Day 2.
The chip leader, David Allan was in a battle with another Australian for most of the day,David Wonson for the lead but it was not until the last hand of the day that he was able to claim the minor victory.
Allan finished the day with 98,200 whileWonson ended up at 92,575. There were players from six different countries in the field today and some of those who made it through include: Antonin Duda from the Czech Republic (79,450 chips), Levinskas Laurynasfrom Lithuania (84,625 chips). There were some Queenstown locals who will be back to battle on Firday: Fergus Spary (67,250 chips) and Erich Stadler (29,725 chips), as well asWSOPE Bracelet Winner Andrew Hinrichsen(20,575 chips) and 2011 ANZPT Sydney Champion Michael Kanaan (88,350 chips).

Some of the players were not so lucky and will have to console themselves with skiing, snowboarding, bungy jumping, ski diving and fantastic food. The second and third on the ANZ Player of Year race did not survive - Mishel Anunu and Didier Guerin. Other notable players eliminated today were Daniel Neilsen and Michael Egan.
