Queenstown looks set to host it’s biggest ever tournament as over 100 poker players descend on the Southern Lakes region for the 2010 Queenstown ANZPT adding to the 38 Auckland runners who battled it out for seats over the weekend.
In only it’s second year The QT ANZPT is proving to be very popular with over seas poker players wanting to experience New Zealand’s premier tourist destination and looks set to become a permanent fixture in the Australasian tour.
Many of the entrants who have traveled from as far afield as Holland have bought their families and plan to stay on after the event. South Islanders will have a final chance to satellite into the main event for $550 on Tuesday evening, or failing that will part with $2500 and enter the main event directly. Prizes wont be announced until all entries are finalized but the total prize pool is expected to be in excess of $300,000.
