The first Aussie Millions event was held in 1998 with only 10 international participants (mainly from NZ). It was a $1000 buy-in and had a prize pool of $74,000.

Since then the tournament has grown in leaps and bounds. In 2004, there were 133 entrants with a first prize of $426,500. In 2008 there were 780 participants with a guaranteed first prize of $1.65 million.

2009′s Aussie Millions will feature a guaranteed first prize of AUD$2,000,000!

The Aussie Millions is now considered one of the ‘must-do’ poker events on the calendar and attracts a very high calibre player pool.
