Poker Oscars, Top 10 Comedy Moments in Poker

This week we’re joined by a special guest contributor, Deke from Wellington. He has kindly put together this article for us all to enjoy.

As I sit here at my computer after a long session of online poker, I seek to unwind in my favorite way – checking the poker forums and consuming any new poker media that may have popped up in the last 30 minutes. You see I am a man obsessed with all things poker, a student of the game and a massive fan boy of the players and industry in general.

My name is Deke I play online and host 2 venues a week for my pub poker league in Wellington, Pokerfun.

Anywho, as I scroll the forums (2+2), I feel compelled to make a list of the 10 best poker comedy links. Things I have seen over the years that I find clever and funny. I rank them and give my reasons, as is standard in composing lists

10. Hellmuth getting owned:

This clip on my list has taken massive heat for douche baggery but Phil asks for it with his loutish behavior. Truly one of the craziest TV poker moments – poor Phil

9. Yellow and black:

Famous poker player Prahlad Friedman joins the ranks of Ultimate bet as a sponsored pro. The irony is he detests sponsorship and was one of the biggest victims of the UB cheating scandal, losing much of his bankroll and destroying his poker confidence.

This link is a rap song created to mock Prahlad and even though we are fellow Vegetarians I still find myself smiling at his expense.

8. Livb owns drunken guy:

Oivier Busquet, or Livb as he is known on Fulltilt is my hero. He owns Heads -up sit and goes so here is his time to shine. Heads – up in a WPT (World Poker tour) out – chipped playing against a random cocky douche. The humor comes as Livb takes the lead and his opponents demeanor changes. I start it at part 2 of 4 a longish watch but still funny – enjoy.
