<p>Earlier this year the much anticipated <a title="ANZPT Season 2 Schedule" href="http://www.anzpt.com/tournaments/" target="_blank">Season  2 Schedule</a> was announced and with it came two new venues &#8211; Perth and Canberra, taking the ANZPT destination count to an impressive 7 venues. But as if that wasn&#8217;t enough,  on 14.05.10 at the  <a title="ANZPT - News" href="http://www.anzpt.com/news/" target="_blank">ANZPT website&#8217;s news section</a>, an 8th venue was announced &#8211; Darwin!</p>
<p>Season 1 attracted 1309 entrants, across just the 5 venues in 2009 and amassed a huge AUD$2,982,436 in prize money, Season 2 is sure to push well past the AUD$4M mark in prize money with threee additional venues!! Already the Adelaide leg has topped Season 1&#8242;s prize pool by $57,330, generating a total prize pool of $644, 280. The new Perth leg, held in March this year, was a huge success attracting a field of 222 &amp; createed a record AUD$510,600 prizepool for ANZPT Perth. Then Sydney came along in March and smashed last years prizepool with a whopping $892,000!</p>

<p>Four intense days and 28 one-hour levels later, the first ANZPT Sydney Main Event title came down to a showdown between a 49-year-old mother-of-six and Gold Coast mortgage broker Lisa Walsh, and 25-year-old Sydney student Paren &#8220;Puzz&#8221; Arzoomanian. After a great heads up battle, the final hand came when Lisa shoved her stack into the middle and was all in with Kh-9c which Paren called with his Ac-5d. On flopping 2 pair it was over and the 25yo NSW student took home the title of ANZPT Sydney champion and a massive AU$246,500 for his efforts.</p>
